Frequently Asked Questions

While development varies, by age 2 most children have at least 50 words and are beginning to combine two words. If your child isn’t reaching these milestones, an early evaluation is strongly recommended. Early intervention makes a significant difference.

A speech delay involves difficulty with producing sounds clearly. A language disorder affects understanding or using words, sentences, and communication – it may exist alongside or independently of speech difficulties. Our therapists assess both.

Most children benefit from 2-3 sessions per week, though this depends on the nature and severity of the challenge. Your therapist will recommend a frequency following assessment.

Some children benefit from augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools, including picture cards, communication apps, or speech-generating devices. Our therapists are trained to assess whether AAC is appropriate and to support its implementation.
